Holiday Inn Goa | Goa
A celebration that brought together Persian and Indian traditions, with two very different wedding days united by one beautiful story.
Yasaman and Pranay’s story began in the United States, where their paths crossed while they were both living and working there.
Pranay brought his Indian roots from Delhi, while Yasaman came from a Persian heritage. Together, they decided to bring their families and friends to Goa to celebrate their wedding by the sea.
For many of their guests, it would be their first time experiencing Goa—and for us, it would be our first time bringing together two wedding traditions that were completely different from one another.
Yasaman and Pranay wanted an intimate yet luxurious destination wedding on the shores of Goa, surrounded by their closest friends and family.
The focus wasn’t on a large guest list. It was about creating an experience where the people closest to them could come together, celebrate their cultures and experience Goa together.
And with many guests visiting Goa for the first time, the wedding became as much about the celebration as it was about creating a memorable destination experience.
What made this celebration particularly special was the opportunity to bring together two completely different wedding traditions.
Day One — A Persian Wedding
The celebrations began with a traditional Persian wedding, introducing us to customs and elements that were completely new to our team.
Day Two — An Indian Wedding
The following day, the celebration shifted into an Indian wedding, bringing an entirely different energy, set of traditions and cultural experience.
~Two days.
~Two cultures.
~Two very different celebrations.
Yet at the heart of both was the same thing—two families coming together to celebrate Yasaman and Pranay.
One of the most memorable parts of this wedding was creating the Sofreh Aghd for the Persian ceremony.
It was something we’d never planned or experienced before.
Rather than approaching something unfamiliar with assumptions, we worked closely with Yasaman, learning about the traditions and understanding the significance behind the different elements that make up the ceremony.
With her guidance, we were able to bring the Sofreh Aghd together in a way that respected the tradition while fitting beautifully into the destination wedding setting.
For us, this was exactly what destination wedding planning should be about—listening, learning and bringing different traditions together thoughtfully.
Our role covered the complete destination wedding experience:
Helping the couple find and secure the right setting for their intimate celebration.
Working closely with the property to coordinate the multiple requirements across both wedding days.
Planning two distinct celebrations while ensuring the overall guest experience remained seamless.
Creating two different visual experiences while respecting the character and traditions of each celebration.
Looking after guests travelling to Goa, many of whom were experiencing the destination for the first time.
Coordinating the various creative and operational teams involved across both celebrations.
What we’ll remember most about Yasaman and Pranay’s wedding isn’t simply that it was a Persian wedding followed by an Indian wedding. It’s that we had the opportunity to learn something completely new.
Wedding planning often asks us to step outside what we already know—to understand different cultures, traditions and ways of celebrating and then find a way to bring them together beautifully. For Yasaman and Pranay, Goa became the meeting point for two cultures and two families.
And for us, it became an experience we’ll always remember.
